This months Gutter Helmet showcase home is located outside Baltimore, MD. Our certified Gutter Helmet installers installed approximately 500 feet of standard 12 inch bronze Gutter Helmet and 18 inch panels on this beautiful home with 5k style gutters (half round gutters around front porch of home).

Gutter Helmet Installed on Baltimore, Maryland Home

Given the complexity of this homes roof with different levels, Gutter Helmet perforated panels were installed to handle steep roof valley’s and areas where 2×3 downspouts from second level deposit on lower level. In addition to perforated panels, diverters were installed to slow and spread the water out in these high volume water area’s.

For dimensional roofs like this home, our installers applied the standard install method under second course roof shingle with the Gutter Helmet panels reinforced with patented heavy gauge brackets made exclusively for Gutter Helmet.

Most dimensional style roofs on homes utilize a standard 12 inch Gutter Helmet panel except in cases where gutters are 6 inches (18″ panels are used). When asphalt shingle exposure on a dimensional roof is more than 5 inches we typically use a 14 inch Gutter Helmet panel to make sure the Gutter Helmet system is secured underneath the second course shingle for the entire run of gutter (remember a gutter is pitched so one side of house is higher or lower then other side to allow for proper draining down downspout).
